    Description

    Day To Day:

    Our top medical device client is seeking a skilled and innovative Machine Vision Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a Machine Vision Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge vision systems that drive efficiency and accuracy across various industries.

    Responsibilities:

    • Algorithm Development: Design, develop, and test algorithms for image processing, computer vision, and object recognition systems.
    • Platform Expertise: Proficiency in Cognex and Keyence platforms, with a focus on Vision Pro, Designer, and Insight.
    • Product Selection and Engineering: Collaborate with controls engineers to select the right products from vendors (Cognex or Keyence) for specific applications. Ensure optimal camera and lighting choices.
    • Industry Association Knowledge: Familiarity with the AIA (Automated Imaging Association) and industry standards.
    • Calibration and Accuracy: Understand depth of view, calibration techniques, and measurement accuracy. Calibrate vision systems to ensure precise measurements.
    • Pattern Matching and OCR: Utilize tools such as Pattern Matching, Blob Analysis, Edge Detection, Histogram Analysis, OCV (Optical Character Verification), and OCR (Optical Character Recognition).
    • Debugging and Commissioning: Troubleshoot and fine-tune vision systems during deployment.
    • Hardware Selection: Analyze camera and lens options, lighting configurations, and other hardware components.

    Must Haves:

    • Education: Bachelors degree in a relevant field.
    • Experience: Prior experience with Cognex and/or Keyence platforms. Exposure to Insight and Designer is advantageous.
    • Certifications: AIA certification or willingness to obtain it.
    • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to tackle complex challenges related to vision system design.
    • Attention to Detail: Precision in selecting hardware components and calibrating systems.
    • Communication: Effective communication with cross-functional teams and clients.
    • Passion for Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
