- Analyzes malfunctions on a variety of numerical control and electro-mechanical industrial equipment; installs, maintains, repairs or modifies such systems.
- Will be responsible for contacting necessary personnel to obtain information pertaining to difficulties being encountered in the operation of industrial equipment. Analyze the reported malfunction to determine whether the difficulty is originating in the control systems or is of a mechanical nature. May reference schematics, wire diagrams, manuals, etc. in order to determine most likely cause of malfunction.
- Assists in planning operations involved and repairs electronic and/or electro-mechanical equipment and performs periodic maintenance on this type of equipment. Modifies portions of existing electronic and/or electro-mechanical control systems or combinations of systems to incorporate latest designs and/or to include new functions within the control of the system.
- Analyzes malfunctions, plans and directs the modification, repairing and maintenance of automatic control instruments and related devices used in the operation of industrial manufacturing equipment and heating systems.
- May direct/coordinate projects and assist in the accomplishment of the assigned duties and may perform related and lower-level maintenance duties as assigned by management.
- Performs paperwork related to job responsibilities.
- Frequently interacts with internal and external customers, normally involving matters between functional areas, or customers as it relates to maintenance, mechanical or electrical issues.
- Provides technical guidance.
- Facility work will be required (lights, electrical drops, fan repairs, 110VAC, 220VAC, 480VAC).
- Assists with various projects as assigned.
- 2- year technical degree in electronics/electro-mechanical related field is desired
- 4-5 years' related experience
- Experience with heating equipment a plus (ovens)
- Experience working on a wide variety of electro-mechanical production equipment
- Relevant experience with production maintenance, mechanics, and electrical controls/panels, and processes sufficient to understand, support, and train as a backup to one or more of those functions.
- Inventory experience
- Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task and work with little supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills related to conducting mechanical investigations; experience with structured problem solving and fact-based decision-making tools
- Ability to exercise good judgment
- Exposure to statistical techniques for monitoring machine uptime/downtime trends
- Awareness of basic continual improvement philosophies such as Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, and similar programs.
- Experience in PM's (preventative maintenance) and out-of-specification reporting required.
- Must have an understanding of both high voltage and low voltage systems
- Troubleshoot and repair of digital controllers and electromechanical production equipment required.
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot issues to determine appropriate course of action.
- Must have flexibility to work any shift, and/ or weekends based on business needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills desired.
- Good verbal and written communication skills are required. Writing technical reports are a job expectation.
- Ability and willing to support between sites as needed.
- Knowledge and experience working with single phase and 3 phase power systems (11ovac/480ovac).
- Sense of urgency on critical customer equipment repairs.

The experience we are looking for is at least 2 years in Manufacturing related Maintenance work, 4 to 5 years is the desired.
Experience with some common pieces of equipment like conveyors in Automated manufacturing equipment and experience with their components like motors, sensors, drive shafts, bearings, drives, lubrication systems, precise mechanical adjustments, etc.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Maintenance Staff perform all work that will preserve the good condition and functionality of premises and equipment. They perform tasks of a great variety and bring in their specific trade skills. They are thorough professionals with a practical mind and attention to details. They work autonomously and responsibly by observing all environmental, health and safety (EHS) regulations. They maintain the equipment, building infrastructure and equipment in the best possible condition, for a safe, reliable and efficient operation.
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Head of Maintenance
AUTHORITY: Stop any production related activity which quality or safety is at risk. Request parts needed for equipment maintenance. Change maintenance plans as business requires.
