    Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center is a full-service medical center serving the South Metro area. We offer a friendly community hospital feel combined with the expertise and services of a larger medical center. Our specialties include stroke, chest pain, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, cancer care, and orthopedic and total joint surgery. We also have a birth center and breast health center.

    Responsibilities

    Imaging

    Provide high-quality images using optimal skills and knowledge of all equipment.

    Competency in the field of MRI is essential.

    Position patients for diagnostic imaging according to department procedures, training, and machine requirements.

    Operate imaging equipment, determine and set exposure factors, and select technique to ensure accurate and quality images with minimal repeat rates.

    Use computer image processing to select and optimize images.

    Process and present images and related patient information to radiologists for diagnosis.

    Assist with patient transport by moving patients using standard procedures.

    Documentation

    Gather complete documentation of all pertinent information to provide accurate and timely service to customers.

    Identify patients by checking their names and medical record numbers according to department procedure.

    Review patient charts and orders to ensure correct examinations.

    Label images completely with demographic, position, and other necessary documentation.

    Log activities, gather charging information, and charge exams as required.

    Follow department and hospital procedures and policies.

    Perform quality control and quality assurance, record results, and report any variance from normal equipment function.

    Perform medication reconciliation on outpatients receiving IV contrast media.

    Personal and Patient Care and Safety

    Provide personal and patient care and safety using professional judgment in accordance with written standards to prevent injury to self or others.

    Protect patients and others in the area by using proper machine settings and magnetic field safety standards.

    Practice universal and blood and body fluid precautions, and sterile practices according to procedures.

    Communicate and use knowledge of related anatomy and physiology to ensure appropriate and effective care for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

    Maintain awareness of patient status and take appropriate actions to meet their needs.

    Professional Behavior

    Practice professional communication, appearance, conduct, punctuality, attendance, and attitude that leads to physician, patient, and coworker respect and confidence.

    Inform and educate patients and/or family members about all necessary information concerning the exam performed.

    Use professional judgment and present a professional image of competency to customers and staff.

    Maintain professional appearance, punctuality, flexibility, confidentiality, and guest relations.

    Handle stressful situations in ways that promote positive outcomes.

    Take personal initiative to maintain current education (journals, books, in-services seminars) in all specialty areas assigned.

    Participate in presenting professional information to colleagues.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    Graduate of a certified Radiologic Technology school or program, or graduate of a certified Allied Health Imaging program.

    Experience:

    One year previous experience in the field of MRI is preferred. Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions are necessary.

    Licensure

    Licensure/Certification:

    ARRT certification in Radiography, or ARRT certification in MRI is required.

    If not MRI-certified at time of hire, ARRT certification in MRI, or ARMRIT certification in MRI is required within six months.

    Current state license in Magnetic Resonance Imaging is required for all employees who perform this job in the state of Oregon.

    American Heart Association BLS/CPR Certification: Personnel providing direct care in patient care and diagnostic areas are required to acquire and maintain BLS/CPR certification.

    Pay Range

    USD $44.57 - USD $63.74 /Hr.
