    Overview

    Kimley-Horn's Oakland, California (CA) office is looking for a skilled Traffic Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their team specializing in ITS/Traffic. This role requires on-site presence, not remote.

    Responsibilities

    • Execute traffic engineering and project management tasks for a wide range of transportation planning projects, transit systems, traffic engineering, safety, and ITS projects for diverse clients
    • Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset, envisioning personal growth while contributing to the development of the well-established transportation engineering practice
    • Ensure project profitability, engage in project delivery, delegate work to qualified staff, and provide leadership and mentorship
    • Make substantial contributions to marketing and business development initiatives, with the freedom to pursue individual interests, opportunities, and client relationships
    • Collaborate with a team of engineers and designers on various stimulating projects
    • Cultivate valuable internal and external professional relationships
    • Work collaboratively with leading industry professionals, jurisdictions, and contractors

    Qualifications

    • 4+ years of relevant engineering experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering, traffic operations, and ITS planning and design
    • Professional Engineering License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
    • Proficiency in Synchro, HCS, and/or Vissim software applications preferred
    • Ability to thrive in a team setting, manage multiple projects effectively, and communicate across all levels of the organization
    • Skilled in staff management, resource allocation, and maintaining a positive work environment
    • Deliver high-quality work with a focus on exceptional client service
    • Experience in business development, including proposal writing, scoping projects, and budget preparation

    Salary Range:

    $100,000 - $145,000
