Accounting Manager - Independence, United States - Vantage Financial

Description

Due to retirement, we are actively seeking candidates for an Accounting Manager position that will be responsible for the daily accounting of the organization.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the selected candidate will be responsible for cash management, accounts receivable, accounts payable and management of the commission revenue cycle.

Responsibilities
Manage monthly accounting and revenue cycles
Oversee accounts payable function
Manage travel expense process to ensure expenses are allowable, properly calculated and accurately recorded
Process investment advisor fees, group benefit fees and commissions
Work with insurance carriers to ensure proper licensing and certifications are maintained
Assist CFO and COO in the monthly financial reporting for advisors
Partner with CFO to ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Qualifications
5 to 7 years of progressive responsibility within an accounting department
QuickBooks Pro expertise
Microsoft Office Suite experience including Word and Excel
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Strong organizational skills
Exposure to the financial services industry a PLUS
