- Performs visual assessment (heart lungs), observation and some physical assessment (heart lungs), observing and recognizing unusual or complex problems and making proper disposition.
- Assesses and triages chronic disease entities such as chronic back and shoulder pain, gastrointestinal problems, diabetes and hypertension and refers appropriately to the physician for further evaluation and care.
- Teaches patients about the nature of the illness, treatment and general health measures.
- Documents observations, nursing interventions, therapeutic measures administered and status of coordinated activities between nursing and other professional disciplines utilizing the problem oriented record system.

Summary
Located in the Nursing Department of the Cass Lake Service Unit in the Bemidji Area. Performs professional nursing duties in an ambulatory care, inpatient, Emergency Department and/or other healthcare settings as assigned. Will rotate shifts as needed, which may include; 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts, every other weekend. All RN's will be required to participate in an on-call shift rotation for the Emergency Room as directed by the Director, Associate Director of Nursing and/or Nursing Supervisor.
