    ABOUT TAB:

    Travis Association for the Blind/Austin Lighthouse (TAB) a non-profit organization, was founded in 1934 by Dr. Henry L. Hilgartner and other civic-minded citizens of Austin to provide a setting where blind men and women could come to learn skills and create products that were sold door to door.

    Today, Travis Association for the Blind stays true to the mission established in 1934 by providing opportunities for economic and personal independence for people who are blind, visually impaired, or deaf blind by creating, sustaining, and improving employment. We continue to grow and expand the services we provide to blind Texans.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinates with San Diego Contract
    • Successful candidate will build TL/LTL freight shipments for third party Logistics (3PL Distribution)
    • Coordination of all activities with Supply Lead, Wave Planner, and warehouse Manager
    • Verify orders are accurately filled using RF Gun and compare items and quantities of products gathered for shipment and documents and the automated warehouse management system
    • Ensure shipments are properly packed and properly identified with shipping information
    • Prepare, process, and keep records of shipments , e.g. manifest bill of lading
    • Manage operating supplies and equipment
    • Prepare periodic activity reports to share information with management

    Requirements

    • Verifiable high school diploma or GED equivalent
    • Prefer 2 to 3yrs experience in warehouse logistics
    • Ability to operate manual and electric pallet jacks and achieve certification within 30 days
    • Strong organizational and math skills
    • Proficiency in the use of computers including good working skills with MS word, MS Excel, email and the internet
    • A working knowledge of general warehouse management software will be a plus- current software used is Manhattan Scale
