- Develops and maintains planning documents and instructions for engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and formulas to determine quality and reliability standards.
- Evaluates and reports on inspection, testing, and evaluation standards and methods.
- Creates advanced quality planning documents, forms, and reporting standards.
- Manages project timing plans and monitors SPC programs.
- Records data, applies statistical quality control procedures, and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
- Sets up and performs destructive and non-destructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
- Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into the computer for analysis.
- Works with computers and applicable programs - Microsoft Office applications and Minitab.
- Assists APQP team with quality issues on new product launches including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Communicates with customers and suppliers, ensures compliance with Lot Traceability program.
- Participates in defect/scrap reduction activities and assists in the purchase of Quality Assurance supplies and equipment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university or two years of college in an engineering/technical field.
- Three years of experience in an injection molding shop with emphasis on process problem-solving.
- Fluent in English with the ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Experience with IATF 16949 and TS16949 standards.
- The ability to apply advanced mathematics as typically taught during a four-year college or university course.
- The ability to deal with problems involving several concrete or abstract variables in standard and non-standard situations.
