Assistant EngineerMcAllen, TX | Full Time RESPONSIBILITIESSet-up, install and maintain gear associatedwith Radio/TV/IT areas such STL microwaves, stream encoders and decoders,Ciscoswitches,Nevion TSG-425 series IPgateways,and CradlepointsPerforming regular maintenance and repair ofbroadcast and related equipment usingknowledge and understanding of work tools,test equipment, and system operations on Gates Air Maxiva tv transmitters andFlexiva FM transmitters.

Prepare and execute regular maintenanceschedules, reports, and documentation for thetransmission sites, and engineering.
Assisting in the maintenance andinstallation of computer workstations andcomputer-based television production andautomation broadcast equipment.
Maintaining equipment stocks andinventories, reports, keeping common areas clean and organized.
Some overnight or weekend hours may berequired.
Other duties as directed by the ChiefEngineer.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate must have at least a highschool or equivalency education.2year AAS in Electronics is preferred but a general radio and/or televisionbackground in a broadcast facility would suffice.

General computer background with WindowsOS,Google Sheets/Docs and GMAILextremely helpful.
General familiaritywith Office products such as Word/Excel and Powerpoint would beadvantageous.

Experience/knowledge of non-linear editingsystems, radio and television broadcast equipment, radio and televisionbroadcast transmission equipment, computer-based production systems,microphones, multimedia journalist cameras.

Strong interpersonal, communication skills arecritical to this role, as well as solid reporting and writing skills,combined with excellent organizational skills.

The successful candidate must be able to lift atleast 50 pounds in order to handle equipment, be able to climb ladders safely and have andmaintain a current, valid California driver's license.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORKThis is a Full Time position. Actual schedule and hours may vary.
