    Our client, a global manufacturing company in the Muskegon area, is actively looking for a Plant Controller to join their team Relocation assistance is available Role Summary:The Plant Controller will be the backbone of the company's accounting operations, playing a crucial role in steering the company towards financial health and compliance. This is a pivotal position where your expertise will influence decision-making processes, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. You'll lead a team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and unwavering accuracy in all financial matters.     • Lead the development and maintenance of comprehensive accounting systems
    • Manage and mentor a dedicated team, enhancing their skills and contributions to the financial operations.
    • Oversee the accurate closure of accounting periods, including general ledger and sub-ledger reconciliations, and the preparation of financial reports.
    • Spearhead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting, aligning financial strategies with corporate objectives.
    • Collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing to project sales and evaluate financial performance.
    • Act as a key controller for treasury and cash management processes, ensuring robust financial controls and compliance.
    • Maintain a standard cost system, ensuring it reflects accurate material, labor, and overhead costs.
    • Lead inventory cycle counts and reconciliations, providing clear visibility into stock levels and valuations.
    • Prepare financial analyses for capital projects, supporting strategic investments and growth initiatives.
    • Facilitate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and other regulatory standards.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
    • 6+ years of accounting/finance experience with general ledger/month end close
    • 2+years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
    • 2+years of cost accounting experience
    Preferred Skills/Competencies:
    • Experience in a leadership role
