  • The Director of Industrial Hygiene will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of global industrial hygiene programs and policies across BMS through the Safety CoE. This role will work closely with global cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with BMS standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices related to industrial hygiene, occupational health, and safety.
  • Interpret and advise the scientific community on BMS procedures and guidance for the proper handling and use of potent drug compounds, basic laboratory reagents and materials, and physical hazards in the laboratory, development areas, pilot plants, and manufacturing facilities throughout the network.
  • Proactively assess research data from the BMS Occupational Toxicology staff and independently published sources to communicate/implement actions to ensure the health and safety of affected staff.
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health and safety, or a related field.
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification required.
  • Additional certification such as Certified Safety Professional, Certified Biosafety Professional, or Professional Engineer desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements related to industrial hygiene, including OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, and EC Directives.
