    Join our dynamic team as an Underwriter and play a crucial role in driving new and renewal business within your assigned region.

    This practice writes up to 12 lines of coverage in Public Entity:
    Property & allied lines, General Liability, EPLI, Public Officials Liability, Law Enforcement Liability, Auto, WC, and others.

    The Sr. Underwriter

    will be responsible for generating and developing new business to meet specified production goals. They will also maintain an existing book and nurture existing client relationships, ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction.

    Responsibilities:
    Generate new business opportunities and meet production goals through effective sales techniques and leveraging market knowledge.

    Provide outstanding customer service by promptly responding to inquiries and building strong relationships with clients.

    Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Property and Casualty industry, including industry trends and competitive markets.

    Skillfully negotiate renewals to meet retention and growth goals, delivering tailored solutions to meet client needs.

    Ensure accurate and timely completion of file reviews, documentation and reporting, providing valuable insights to management.

    Actively engage in industry events and build a professional network to represent the organization positively.

    Collaborate with team members, sharing knowledge and ideas to enhance processes and achieve common goals.

    Thrive in a fast-paced environment, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing innovative strategies.

    Requirements:

    5+ years of experience in underwriting with a focus in Commercial lines insurance

    Strong sales and negotiation skills with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

    Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management abilities.

    Proficient in utilizing technology and industry-specific software for underwriting and documentation purposes.

    Self-motivated and able to work independently, while also thriving in a collaborative team environment.


    Bonus:
    In-depth knowledge of Public Entity Property and/or Casualty industry products, services, and underwriting principles.

    Experience with underwriting in PA, CT, NY, MA, or NJ


    The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors.

    The base pay range for the Sr Underwriter will be $110,000 to $120,000

    . Discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded.
