- Baker School District is currently seeking a candidate for a .9 FTE Roaming Classified position - 9 hours a day, four days a week for the school year.
- This position supports elementary, middle and high school across the District on a daily basis to fill classified openings for Cooks, Secretaries and/or Paraprofessionals.
- Baker School District operates on a 4-day work week, M-Th. However, due to several holidays on Mondays, there are four Fridays included in the work week during the school year.
- Food Handlers Card.
- Under general direction, plans, prepares, cooks, and serves meals in large quantities to students and staff in a cafeteria setting; maintains required food service and production records; performs other job-related duties as required.
- Must be accurate and able to multi-task efficiently, have a working knowledge of computers and office equipment, and be able to work independently as well as with students, employees and/or administrator in a positive, productive manner.
- Completed two years of post-secondary education study (72 Q hrs or 48 S hrs) or Obtain an Associate's degree or
- Have passed a fee based paraprofessional assessment.

- Prepare and serve meals from a basic menu, maintaining quality and portion control.
- Maintain, clean, and sanitize, dishes, utensils and kitchen work space.
- Store items and equipment.
- Immediately report to the principal and/or food service director any problems or accidents occurring on the kitchen and/or cafeteria premises.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment following all safety and sanitary rules and regulations.
- Supervise and instruct kitchen personnel in the safe, proper, and efficient use of the kitchen and its equipment following all safety and sanitary rules and regulations related to food handling.
- Compile, order, and store needed supplies. Keep records on meals and snacks served, food and beverages, and inventory.
- Work cooperatively with the principal and coordinate instructional activities requiring kitchen facilities use by non-kitchen personnel.
- Participate in in-service and/or professional development programs, funded by the district, when requested by administrator/supervisor.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor or designee.
- Perform general office duties including but not limited to: greeting the public, telephone operations, typing and filing, scheduling appointments, and mail handling.
- Complete entry work with speed and accuracy. Input, format, edit, and retrieve data on a computer, calculator, and other technical equipment.
- Input and retrieve data in a timely fashion in the student information system.
- Order and distribute supplies and maintain purchase order information.
- Perform bookkeeping tasks which include handling money, receipts and bank deposits.
- Dispense medication and perform minor first aid.
- Coordinate/reserve use of building facilities.
- Participate in in-service and/or professional development programs, funded by the district, when requested by administrator/supervisor.
- Maintain confidentiality in all areas.
- Comply with all applicable district, state, and federal policies and laws.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor or designee.
- Work under the direct supervision of, and follow instructional plans provided by, certified teachers and/or licensed specialists in a group or one-on-one situation.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a positive environment that promotes optimum learning and the safety of students and staff in any educational setting.
- Utilize positive behavior management strategies as directed by the teacher and/or specialist to assure student safety, dignity, and responsibility for their own actions.
- Assist students in independent or group study, administer remedial drill work, and provide computer assistance, using a variety of strategies respecting individual learning styles.
- Assist teacher in testing and the evaluation of individual students.
- Supervise students in all areas of the school and/or other educational settings as directed.
- Request, gather, prepare and store materials for teachers and students.
- Perform clerical duties, maintain accurate records, and operate office machines as needed.
- Perform tasks assigned and trained by occupational and physical therapists, speech language pathologists, and other providers in the delivery of related services.
- Participate in in-service and/or professional development programs, funded by the district, when requested by administrator/supervisor.
- Maintain confidentiality in all areas.
- Comply with all applicable district, state, and federal policies and laws.
- Perform other duties as determined or assigned by the supervising teacher and/or principal.
- $16.26 per hour.
