    Due to the substantial growth driven by these market forces, Nehring needs to hire an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer to support its operational initiatives.

    Nehring is committed to the DeKalb community and has invested over $20 million in capital investments (including repurposing two underutilized buildings) over the past two years.

    Position


    The EHS Engineer reports to the VP Manufacturing Technology and plays an integral role enhancing and managing safety and environmental risks.


    The successful candidate will handle the following responsibilities:
    Serve as Nehring's safety champion, driving best practices across the organization through open communication and accountability for key metrics.

    Enforce compliance with environmental, health and safety standards and related reporting (e.g. OSHA, NFPA, EPA).

    Drive Capex improvements through business case development summarizing key factors and financial/non-financial implications to executive management team.

    Perform safety audits and maintain emergency response/disaster recovery plans. Enforce PPE requirements and 5S program.

    Qualifications

    Associate's degree in Engineering or related field.


    Work onsite in DeKalb, IL every day and be a part of the team (with remote/hybrid work being the exception).

    Roll-up-your-sleeves, entrepreneurial mindset. We are looking for candidates who treat the business like it's their own.

    Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Solid Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, filter/sort, data dumps) and ERP experience.

    Self-motivated with the ability to exhibit confidence and professionalism inside and outside the organization.
