    Position Purpose


    The
    Dental Billing and Collections Specialist is responsible to post payments, prior authorizations, walkouts, submit claims, follow up on outstanding claims, collections.

    Under the close direction of the Office Manager performs data entry, billing and collection functions. When necessary, functions as receptionist, makes appointments, pulls and files records.


    What you will do

    • Maintains financial records and prepares monthly accounting reports. Performs reception duties when scheduled
    • Collects and organizes patient biographical data for input and checks that necessary information regarding address, phone, employer, responsible party and insurance are available
    • Monitors returned bills as an indicator of incorrect address and attempts to obtain proper information on patients
    • Enters cash payments, check payments, Visa/MC and deposit transfers, makes adjustments, and prepares the daily deposit
    • Calculates receivables and prepares monthly financial report.
    Records the charges, payments, and adjustments


    Minimum Qualifications

    • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
    • Knowledge of medical/dental billing and financial reporting preferred
    • Previous experience in billing and collections preferred
