- Obtaining and maintaining substance registrations and chemical inventory compliance in North America, including data collection, analysis, preparation of documents, and submission of data and dossiers to regulatory agencies, relevant to IFF's breakthrough DEB polymeric products, uses and markets (e.g., EPA PMN, Canada NSNR, TSCA CDR, etc.).
- Interfacing with the DEB GRSL to develop, implement, and lead regulatory strategy supporting innovation portfolio, application development and cost-improvement initiatives.
- Interfacing with the DEB GRSL to provide global regulatory input during cross functional technical and business project meetings.
- Providing issue management support for DEB products and activities across key external stakeholder groups.
- Developing an understanding of existing and emerging chemical regulatory issues in North America, Latin America and Asian Pacific and their impact on IFF DEB and Enzymes businesses; monitoring information resources and assessing impact on IFF; translating regulatory impacts into support strategies and assisting in implementation.
- Supporting and collaborating with other GRA global and regional functions to meet local chemical regulatory compliance requirements.
- You have a MSc or higher degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Toxicology, Environmental Science, Chemistry or other comparable technical field or comparable experience.
- You have 10+ years of experience from Regulatory Affairs in the Biotechnology or Chemical Industry.
- You have related work experience supporting regulatory compliance for chemicals and polymers across regulatory frameworks for multiple regions and applications. Experience with the preparation of regulatory filings for TSCA is required.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse and global teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work strategically and with flexibility in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent skill set in IT applications and comfortable with learning new IT systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Very good organizational and project management competences.
- Knowledge of polymer science and polymer applications.
- Familiarity with the application of the tools of modern biotechnology to produce enzymes.

Health & Biosciences is the business unit of IFF that offers world-class bioscience & microbiome capabilities, with the broadest biotech portfolio, to deliver best-in-class performance and sustainable product solutions across a range of end markets Over the past decade, IFF Health & Biosciences has developed a technology platform called Designed Enzymatic Biomaterials, or "DEB" and we can now create polysaccharides from the enzymatic polymerization of simple sugars, which are highly-tailored for a range of applications in home and personal care-and beyond.
Our Chemical Substance Registration Team, part of Global Regulatory Affairs (GRA), is growing, and we are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Senior Manager, to drive chemical control compliance programs for our DEB and Enzymes businesses.
What we offer
The Senior Manager, Chemical Substance Registration is accountable for delivering innovative chemical regulatory strategies and filings to support the development, commercialization, and maintenance of IFF's breakthrough DEB biotechnology innovations, enzyme, and polysaccharide products. This includes working closely with the DEB Global Regulatory Strategy Leader (GRSL), the Product Safety Group and other GRA functions supporting DEB, and active involvement in maintaining compliance of our enzyme and polysaccharide products globally.
The role reports to the Head of GRA Chemical Substance Registration and is located preferably in Wilmington, DE US, but other locations in US can also be considered. Remote working is an option.
