    Job Description:

    The Registered Nurse-Hospital functions as a vital member of the healthcare team by demonstrating a customer/patient focus, effective communication, professionalism and self-development, and teamwork.

    The individual utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families.

    The Registered Nurse - Hospital is expected to demonstrate excellent clinical, problem-solving, interpersonal and leadership skills and make decisions consistent with hospital policies, department protocols/guidelines, and the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act.


    The staff of the 16-bed MICU provides 24-hour nursing care to critically ill adult/geriatric patients >18 years of age with a variety of medical conditions and strives to meet the unique cultural and developmental needs of the patients.

    MICU may serve as an overflow unit for SICU or PICU in the event either unit is full and unable to triage.

    This position will work in the Marshfield Medical Center, Marshfield, WI in the Medical Intensive Care Unit.

    This position may be eligible for a recruitment bonus paid on the first paycheck of employment.


    WORK SHIFT:
    Variable 12 Hour Shifts including every third weekend and holiday rotation


    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION
    (For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.)

    Required Education:
    Diploma or degree in nursing.

    Preferred Education:
    Bachelor's degree in nursing.


    EXPERIENCE

    Preferred/Optional Experience:
    Experience in an acute care setting.

    CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

    The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc.

    Minimum Required:
    Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Nurse Compact License. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification on hire or during orientation.
