- Assembling and preparing equipment, instruments, and supplies for obstetrical operative deliveries based on surgeon preference cards
- Setting up and maintaining the intra-operative sterile field and anticipating the surgeon's needs
- Supporting the surgeon during complicated or high-risk vaginal births
- Understanding and practicing family-centered care and hospital policies
- Functioning as a second assist when necessary
