    Intermountain Electronics, Inc. is a leading provider and manufacturer of custom engineered Process, Electrical Control and Power Distribution turn-key solutions to the Industrial, Power/Utility, Oil & Gas, Mining and Data Center industries in North America. Our products range from large scale one-off custom Power Distribution, Control and Process systems to standard off-the-shelf electronic/electro-mechanical components. We are seeking a Procurement Specialist at our South Point, Ohio facility.

    The Procurement Specialist coordinates and assesses the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the company supply chain. They maintain vendor metrics, as well as evaluate, negotiate, and establish vendor relationships in order to improve pricing, quality, and delivery. They also establish risk mitigation plans relating to supply chain, track and evaluate commodity cycles. They are responsible for day to day purchasing and buying as assigned.

    Key Accountabilities:

    Vendor Management

    • In coordination with the Procurement Manager, General Manager, and Engineering Manager, conduct in-depth market research to identify and qualify potential suppliers for a wide range of equipment, materials, and services used in typical IE projects including, transformers, cable, control panels, other electrical components, steel, siding, and paint among others.
    • Assist in negotiating pricing agreements and lead times with a goal of cost savings and project timeline improvement.
    • Develops relationships with new suppliers, vetting, and evaluating benefits and capabilities.
    • Manages supplier relationships for vendors specializing in industrial electrical supplies, freight, and subcontractor relationships, fostering open communication and building strong partnerships.
    • Supports project managers and engineers in quoting job materials. Interfaces between suppliers and engineering/project managers/sales to answer any questions related to RFQ documents
    • Resolves any contractual issues or problem parts with vendors and ensures timely and accurate receipt of procured equipment and materials.

    Data Analysis and Reporting

    • Develop reports for the management of bin fill and vendor managed inventory, as well as reports to monitor and improve internal performance of warehouse and buying processes.
    • Creates and manages reports to evaluate if IE is receiving the best value on parts and stocking correct parts across the facility.
    • Tracks and understands commodity cycles for key materials such as copper, steel, and other minerals important to IE manufacturing, and develop strategies to mitigate or take advantage of swings in markets to protect and enhance the company's cost positions in relation to current and future projects.
    • Monitors vendor performance against agreed-upon metrics, including delivery timelines, product quality, and responsiveness to inquiries.

    Strategic Sourcing

    • Engages in negotiations with established vendors to secure both standard inventory items and new products, as well as bulk purchasing, ensuring alignment with production requirements.
    • Negotiates and implements cost savings to meet or exceed material cost and total cost reduction objectives
    • Regularly consults with the Procurement Manager, General Manager and Engineering Manager to understand the types of projects the facility will be building in upcoming quarters to understand if pricing agreements are in place to serve them.
    • Identifies any deficiencies in suppliers for particular components or categories and conduct requests for pricing (RFP's) to establish preferred suppliers for those products.
    • Develops risk mitigation plans and alternatives for strategic material to ensure that quality, delivery, and pricing are protected in the event of plan deviations.

    Buyer

    • Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials and/or services from suppliers; Prepares and evaluate supplier quotations and services to determine the most competitive solution based upon a total cost of ownership.
    • Independently conducts multiple complex sourcing projects.
    • Verifies orders and ensures on-time delivery of parts, supplies, tools, goods, etc.
    • Negotiates and purchases materials and/or services from suppliers.
    • Generates and maintains PO's for job or inventory purchases; ensures proper execution for special pricing and delivery of bulk or programmatic purchases.
    • Expedites orders and follows up on critical orders to ensure that redelivery is on time and expenses are minimized.
    • Follows up with suppliers with problem parts, expedites warranty work, develops permanent solutions.
    • Responsible for job closing process.

    • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field and three years' experience in buying or commodities purchasing and negotiations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience with commodities, electrical components, high voltage equipment related to manufacturing of electrical distribution equipment.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, EPICOR or similar purchasing software
    • Must possess excellent keyboard, grammar, punctuation, spelling skills
    • Exceptional quantitative, analytical, planning and skills
    • Attention to detail and accuracy
    • Must have successful work performance, demonstrate an ability to work well with others, exercise sound judgment and display initiative and innovation on the job
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong work ethic ability to work effectively with diverse customers both internal and external
