    Job Description


    American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical Oncology position at a large Level I Trauma Center Academic Medical Center, with night shifts and a preference for oncology and chemotherapy experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Hospital setting: large Level I Trauma Center Academic Medical Center with 1,500+ staffed beds
    • Medical Surgical Oncology unit
    • Average patient ratio of 1:4
    • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
    • Every other weekend required
    • No on-call requirements
    • Floating within scope of practice required to meet facility needs
    • Charting via Epic EMR
    • Block scheduling accommodated
    • Parking available at $125/month
    • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
    • Royal blue scrubs required
    • Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
    • COVID vaccine required; religious and medical exemptions accepted
    • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
    • Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 2 years before being eligible as a traveler
    • RTO up to 7 days may be auto-approved; RTO exceeding 7 days or during holidays requires facility approval
    • Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as required by the facility

    Requirements

    • Active CT or Compact RN license required; pending licensure accepted
    • Current BLS certification required
    • Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred
    • Prior experience in a large Trauma Center setting required
    • Oncology (ONC) and chemotherapy administration experience preferred but not required
    • Clean nursing license with no prior disciplinary actions
    • One professional reference required for consideration
