    Working at the Fort Liberty Ammunition Supply Point (ASP), the Warehouse Specialist (AMMO) performs a variety of duties which included, verifying materials or merchandise against receiving documents; receives, stores, stacks, or palletizes, unpalletized materials, conducts warehousing operations, prepares and updates storage plans, removes material from storage and prepares it for shipping, works alongside with the Warehouse Specialist-CDL and Shipping and Receiving Clerk (Ammo).

    Maintains a positive physical security posture of all assigned storage locations/work areas.

    Responsibilities

    MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
    Has the primary responsibility of Receiving, Storing and Issuing Ammunition.
    Unloading commercial carriers and uploading commercials carries.
    Verifies material and against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
    Delivers materials to prescribed storage locations.
    Properly stores, stacks or palletizes materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
    Conduct warehousing operations.
    Ensure all assigned storage locations/work areas are locked and IDS system activated at the end of the business day
    Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment.
    Assists in taking inventories through physical count and records item count on inventory documents.
    May operate hand or power trucks in performance of warehousing duties.
    Responsible for delivery of rapid deployment ammunition during Global Response Force (GRF) exercises.
    Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements.
    Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
    Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in certain areas. Face mask that covers the nose and mouth is required.
    Work will typically be in an outdoor environment.
    There may be times when an employee is exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.


    PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
    Must be able to lift a maximum of 75 pounds and a minimum of 5 pounds.
    Must be able to operate in a warehouse and outdoor type environment.

    Must be able to walk on uneven ground and within various work sites 6-8 hours a day in performance of duties.

    Qualifications


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
    High School Diploma or equivalent.
    Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
    Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the installation.
    Must be a U.S. Citizen


    SECURITY CLEARANCE:
    Must be able to pass the standard background check.
    Must be able to pass the background check to have unaccompanied access to arms, ammunition and explosives.
    NACI clearance required.


    EXPERIENCE:
    Three (3) years or more experience in warehouse operations preferred.
    Possess high ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism.
    Ability to work independently or in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.
    Strong written and verbal communications skills; ability to interact at all levels.
    Other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.
    Forklift license and experience is required.
    HAZMAT with Ammo certification preferred, must obtain certification within six months of employment.
    Standard Army Ammunition System (SAAS) Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) preferred.
    Basic Ammunition Certifications (Ammo-45,63,64,67 and 68)
    General Transportation of Hazardous Material (Ammo-62), upon recertification (Ammo-37)
    Intermodal Dry Cargo (Ammo-43)
    Army Electrical Explosive Safety (Ammo-28)
    Environmental Considerations for Ammunition Personnel (Ammo-31)
    Munitions History Program (Ammo-97)
    Risk Management and Preparation of SOP for Ammunition and Explosives Certification (Ammo-54)


    SKILLS:
    Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

    N/A
