    POSITION SUMMARY


    The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) supports the care of medically fragile children in the Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).

    The EMT assists with monitoring, emergency preparedness, basic treatments, and daily care activities while maintaining compliance with Florida PPEC regulatory standards and pediatric safety procedures.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


    • Assist with monitoring and responding to patient needs under RN direction.
    • Provide support with respiratory equipment, tracheostomy care, and suctioning within competency and training.
    • Assist with feeding, hygiene, toileting, positioning, and mobility.
    • Recognize and promptly report changes in patient condition to the supervising RN.
    • Participate in emergency response procedures and assist with stabilization as directed.
    • Maintain patient safety, infection‑control practices, and a clean care environment.
    • Complete required documentation and participate in staff training and competencies.
