    Description

    Expected Starting Salary Range:

    • REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Patient Care


    Assigned to a mentor and one in-patient unit or to an area of specialization (second year resident) where he/she will be responsible to visit patients and families, make spiritual assessments, and work together with the interdisciplinary team in providing spiritual support and interventions.

    Pastoral Care will be noted in the patients' charts.


    • Staff Care
    Provide pastoral support to staff members and provide call coverage as required.


    • Learning and Development


    To construct learning goals consistent with the Outcomes of Level I or Level II CPE as stated in the Standards of ACPE; To define his/her learning goals based on feedback from CPE Educators and peers and emerging self-awareness and address these goals in individual and group supervision with CPE Educators at Cincinnati Children's and with mentor.


    • Program Participation


    Prepare for, attend and participate in individual and group supervision for all aspects of the CPE program including individual supervision sessions; verbatim sessions; Interpersonal Relations Group Sessions; Didactic sessions; and other curriculum items on the syllabus for the individual CPE unit.

    To participate in the evaluation of each unit of CPE and participate in Program Evaluation meetings.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE


    Required:

    • Completion of 1 unit of CPE in ACPE accredited program OR 4 units for 2nd year residents

    Preferred:

    • Completion of at least 2 years of graduate theological education-M.Div., MAHL, or equivalent degree for the applicant's faith tradition;
    • Some chaplaincy experience in 2nd Year CPE Residency specialization if applicable
