    WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    The Buyer role is integral to supporting the Senior Buyer in the procurement of goods, materials, and services. This involves adhering to established purchasing policies and procedures, with a focus on optimizing the best price, quality, and delivery to bolster the operations of Cemstone Supply. Additionally, this position will act as the main point of contact for daily communication with sales representatives and store associates.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Purchase Order Management: Generate purchase orders, monitor delivery dates, and communicate with suppliers for status updates and expediting. Obtain quotes and coordinate delivery logistics.
    • Item Maintenance: Establish new SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) listings based on product specifications, pricing, and other relevant information.
    • Category Strategy Support: Assist the procurement team in developing product category strategies through market analysis and research.
    • Product Accountability: Take responsibility for specific product categories to support future development.
    • RFQ Responses and Costing: Collect and request for quote (RFQ) responses, and complete costing for procurement activities.
    • Technical Data Management: Maintain technical data reference files (SDS, TDS) for all procured products and materials.
    • Vendor Maintenance & Performance: Monitor and collect vendor performance data to streamline the procurement process.
    • Invoice Resolution: Resolve invoice discrepancies and authorize payments as appropriate.
    • Return to Vendor (RTV) Process: Manage the Return to Vendor process to ensure accurate credit and debts.
    • Inventory Management: Review location inventory levels, process and communicate internal location transfers. Proactively identify slow moving inventory to optimize warehouse space & minimize financial losses.
    • KPI Reporting: Generate reports on procurement key performance indicators (KPIs).
    Education and/or Experience:
    • 3 to 5 years of purchasing experience in the construction industry preferred.
    • Bachelor's degree in business admissions, Finance, Supply Chain, Management, or a related field.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to make appropriate decisions within established guidelines.
    • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
    • Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
