    Description

    Our client is growing and seeking a Civil Project Engineer and play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of construction projects. You'll support the Project Manager and Management Team in financial administration and cost reporting, ensuring project success from start to finish.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with the Construction Manager, Bridges Manager, or Project Manager & Superintendent to develop, maintain, and revise project schedules.
    • Manage relationships with assigned subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring timely and quality work.
    • Mentor and guide less experienced Project Engineers, fostering a collaborative and learning-focused environment.
    • Communicate with owners regarding project-related matters and concerns, ensuring transparency and satisfaction.
    • Uphold and reinforce all company safety policies and procedures.
    • Perform additional assignments as directed by supervisors.

    Project-Specific Duties:

    • Manage material ordering based on quantity takeoffs to ensure project execution.
    • Assist with pre-construction activities such as planning, design interpretation, and quantity takeoffs.
    • Prepare drawings, sketches, change orders, and estimates to support construction work.
    • Verify work-in-place quantities for invoicing and ensure accurate payment of subcontractors and suppliers.
    • Maintain submittal logs, ensuring timely receipt and review of submittals and shop drawings.
    • Assemble and monitor construction financial data, track costs, and update systems for accurate forecasting and margin reporting.
    • Ensure accurate completion of craft time cards, assigning cost codes to all relevant items.
    • Maintain as-built drawings, and update RFI, bulletin, and ASI as needed.
    • Maintain RFI logs and ensure timely responses to job questions.
    • Assist with constructability reviews and value engineering functions.
    • Develop, implement, and administer project engineering procedures and work documents, ensuring proper documentation tracking.
    • Manage and maintain all safety and quality records.
    • Develop, maintain, and update the project CPM schedule.
    • Create and manipulate resource and cost-loaded CPM schedules for reporting and planning.
    • Prepare project status reports and participate in status meetings, including the development of meeting minutes.
    • Support project close-out activities and assist with estimates as needed.

    Requirements:

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Ability to mentor and guide less experienced personnel.
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting plans.
    • Excellent computer skills, including spreadsheet analysis and broad technical proficiency.
    • Thorough understanding of cost analysis and estimating with HCSS products or similar software.
    • Extensive experience with CPM scheduling and Primavera products.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Willingness to travel as required.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
    • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, with bridge construction experience preferred.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
