Synergy Interactive is partnered with a notable financial institution and they are seeking a skilled Penetration Tester (Ethical Hacker) to enhance their cybersecurity team. In this role, you will conduct rigorous assessments to identify vulnerabilities, ensuring the protection of our critical infrastructure and sensitive client data against cyber threats.

This is a 1 year contract position and is onsite 5 days per week in Rockville, MD

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in penetration testing or a similar cybersecurity role.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), or similar cybersecurity certifications.
Proven ability to conduct penetration tests and security assessments for a wide range of systems, including complex network infrastructures and web applications.
Deep understanding of network protocols, cryptography, scripting/programming languages, and operating systems.
Experience with tools such as Metasploit, Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, and Kali Linux.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think like both a hacker and a defender.
Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders.

Desired Skills:

Experience in the financial industry, particularly understanding regulatory requirements and compliance issues specific to finance.
Familiarity with cloud security, mobile security, and IoT security.
Experience with additional penetration testing certifications like Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN).
