Job description
DescriptionTo provide a safe and friendly environment insuring members receive quality service and instruction rooted in the highest standards of the fitness industry in fulfillment of the Mizner Country Club mission statement.
QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned, as needed.
- To oversee the fitness floor in regards to member safety and proper instruction in exercise technique.
- To educate members as to current guidelines on fitness and health related topics.
- To perform personal training of members consistent with guidelines set forth by the Fitness Director.
- To maintain CEU's and submit your renewed certifications as they come due.
- To complete all forms and client packages in detail to insure communication between yourself and your client as well as to protect the club from liability.
- To enforce all rules and regulations of the club.
- To conduct orientations and provide informative tours of the fitness area.
- To oversee the cleanliness of the fitness room. The fitness floor should be spotless before you leave for the day. Communicate with oncoming shift as to any areas you were unable to get to.
- To disseminate information to members, on club and fitness activities, such as special events and services.
- To maintain a professional appearance by being in proper uniform at all times. This includes grooming of hair, shirts pressed and tucked in, and wearing of nametags. (Nametag is to be worn opposite the club shield.)
- Must have working knowledge of the front desk and assist desk with towels and lunch breaks.
- To monitor pulse or blood pressure as requested by members.
- Must be available to help cover shifts where needed and be available to work holidays.
- There may be other tasks or duties relative to the performance of your position requested of you by your supervisor from time to time.
- All other duties as assigned by the Fitness Director, and/or General Manager.
REASONING ABILITIES
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception.
