Manual Machinist - Pasadena, TX, United States - BuildSubmarines
Description
You will be responsible for fabricating Fisher OEM control valve parts using a variety of machining techniques and equipment. You will also repair parts from the field, returning them to OEM specifications. You must be familiar with manual and CNC lathe and mill operations. Safety and Quality of work are key components to this position.This role is 2nd Shift- Monday- Friday 2:30 PM- 11:00 PM
Must maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
Set-up, indicate, and machine raw material (bar stock, forgings, and castings) to manufacture Fisher parts to OEM print dimensions.
Develop and edit CNC programs using G-code and other programming languages.
Cross-train on all machines to prevent lapse in production flow including but not limited to engine lathes, manual drills, horizontal bandsaws, CNC lathes, VTLs, HBMs, and CNC mills.
Must understand material hardness, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, coolant requirements and machining techniques.Potential for field assignments using in-line machine. Some travel may be required.
Adherence to all safety, quality, and environmental rules and regulations.
Base pay with shift differential
Strong knowledge of CNC programming and machining techniques.
Familiarity with a variety of CNC machines and controls.
Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Mechanical related Associates degree or 5+ years of experience with machining and fabricating.
Working knowledge of CAD/CAM (MasterCam) & SolidWorks' modeling is preferred
Welding knowledge preferred.
Knowledge of analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and process related problems is strongly preferred.
