    Summary



    This position is located in the Department of State (DOS), Bureau of East Asia and Pacific Affairs, Office of Economic Policy (EAP/EP)

    This serves as public notice for the use of an Agency-specific Direct Hire Authority. Applicants will be forwarded to the selecting official for consideration. We may select from this announcement or any other source to fill one or more vacancies.



    Duties

    • Develops and implements regional economic policy issues related to Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).
    • Participates in and supports multilateral negotiations and serves as the U.S. and/or Department of State representative to designated APEC steering and working groups.
    • Collaborates within Department of State and with other U.S. government agencies with APEC-related issues and supports senior officials on relevant regional issues, as well as backing up colleagues on various portfolios.
    • Monitors developing international economic situations and issues; evaluates economic information gathered and assessments by interested organizations and entities.
    • Analyzes funding requirements and budget proposals for resource implications, prepares justification memoranda for review and appropriate approval; and evaluates program effectiveness.
    • At the 11 and 12 level, the incumbent performs essentially the same duties as outlined; however, the scope and complexity of assignments are of less responsibility and independence and receive closer supervision than at the GS 13 level.
