    Description

    job summary:
    A Sourcing Specialist is needed for a global power leader in the Columbus, IN area. This role involves executing and analyzing complex sourcing and purchasing activities to improve processes, manage suppliers, ensure compliance, and support supply chain efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

    responsibilities:

    • Independently carries out sourcing activities with an understanding of the impact on the end-to-end supply chain.

    • Executes sourcing tactics of varying complexity, ensuring optimum cost, quality, and delivery.

    • Analyzes complex sourcing and purchasing initiatives and processes to support cost-effective and high-quality goods and services delivery.

    • Ensures consistent application of sourcing procedures and processes.

    • Supports purchasing/sourcing management in:
      • Price benchmarking

      • Vendor management

      • Industry and market analysis

      • Process analysis
    • Understands compliance importance and remains alert to risk situations for the company.
    Qualifications and Competencies:
    • Balances stakeholders: Anticipating and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders.

    • Business insight: Applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to sourcing processes.

    • Source to Pay Principles: Leveraging key principles to execute sourcing decisions, order placement, material/service acquisition, and on-time payment of suppliers.

    • Sourcing: Utilizing the purchasing functional system to support the RFQ process, establish Total Cost of Ownership, and define suitable suppliers.

    • Supplier Capacity Management: Leveraging marketing forecast processes and supplier data for capacity planning; assessing suppliers to ensure they meet company demand for aftermarket.

    • Value Performance: Ensuring accurate piece pricing and continuity of supply throughout the product lifecycle.
    Education: College, university, or equivalent degree in supply chain management or a related field.
