DISHWASHER
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teamwork - Operate in the "we, not me" mentality. Take pride in the restaurant. Help and encourage the team members. Be successful together.
- Small-ware Washing - Thoroughly wash and sanitizer all tableware, utensils, pots, pans, trays, containers and anything else that may need to come in contact with food, to ensure the safety of our guests and team members.
- Mise en Place - "Everything in place". Stock work areas with all essential tableware, utensils and equipment according to volume of business. Keep all small-wares clean, stocked and ready to go.
- Cleanliness - Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment throughout the kitchen, including walls, floors, storage areas and shelves, equipment, food contact areas and entire dishwashing area. Wash hands before starting work every day and often throughout the shift.
- Waste Removal - Remove trash, recycling, debris and broken items careful and as needed. Do not allow waste bins to become too full. Rinse and dry waste bins after each waste removal. Break down all boxes flat. Dispose of trash and recycling in appropriate receptacles. Clean back dock and dumpster area at the end of each shift.
- Attention to Detail - Be thorough and accurate with each task. Follow directions attentively.
- Delivery Receiving - Assist chef or kitchen manager in receiving and proper stock of food, dry goods and paper deliveries, following the "first in, first out" principles.
- Organization - Maintain an organized work area in order to be productive, work quickly and efficiently, while multitasking.
- Communication - Listen attentively, speak calmly, clearly and respectfully with all PESTO team members and guests.
- Equipment Maintenance - Take great care of all restaurant equipment and utensils. Clean them thoroughly at the end of each shift and treat them with respect.
- The Three C's - Stay calm, cool and collected to function well in stressful situations
