    Registered Nurse - PCU

    Job Details:


    • Minimum 1 year of experience required, first-time travelers accepted

    • Patient population includes adolescents to geriatrics

    • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale

    • Patient ratio: 1:4-5 (high staffing ratio unit)

    • Mixed MS/Tele and intermediate patients including neuro, respiratory, cardiac, and mixed medical cases

    • Titrating cardiac drips and telemetry monitoring required

    • Assignments may be all PCU, all MS/Tele, or mixed depending on patient acuity and staffing

    • Use Epic charting system, Pyxis, and SBAR communication

    • Navy blue scrubs required

    • Every other weekend schedule unless specified otherwise

    • Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed

    • No call requirements

    • Holiday work required based on assignment period (1-2 holidays if they fall during assignment)

    • Maximum 7 days requested time off allowed

    • Spring break blackout dates (April 4th-12th)

    • Full compliance required to start on time

    • Skills include telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip titration, neuro stepdown care, blood product administration, central line management, tracheostomy care, BiPAP/CPAP management, and isolation precautions

    • 36-bed stepdown unit with daily census of 30 patients

    This healthcare facility operates a progressive care unit that serves as a stepdown unit specializing in intermediate care for a mixed population of medical/surgical and stroke patients. The facility features a 36-bed unit with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, rapid response teams, and transportation services. The organization utilizes modern technology and evidence-based protocols to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
