    Description
    A DC Government Organization is seeking a Financial Technician Contractor. The Contractor will gather, analyze, report, and reconcile data.

    Contractor will use the automated financial system (PeopleSoft) and the internal cuff system (Farsight) to reconcile fund information and to assist in analyzing & reporting financial information.

    Contractor will assist in monitoring the obligation and expenditure of funds to assure funds are properly allocated, obligated, and expensed.

    Contractor will enter purchase orders, travels, purchase cards and miscellaneous expenses into Farsight. Contractor will close purchase orders and travel in the PeopleSoft and Farsight. Contractor will run and distribute weekly reports. Contractor will assist sending documents to the Smithsonian's Office of the Comptroller for processing. Contractor will maintain record of processed documents. Contractor will communicate with fund administrators on a variety of subjects. Contractor will perform other financial technician duties as needed. Contractor shall submit all work through the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) for acceptance and approval. All work under the purchase order shall begin May 31, 2024 and be completed by November 30, 2024. This is a full-time position for a total of 40 hours per week.

    The contractor shall provide all services Monday through Friday, excluding weekends and Federal holidays, between the hours of 8:30am and 5:30pm; no overtime is needed to complete this work.

    This includes one thirty (30) minute lunch break and two fifteen (15) minute breaks.

    Salary:
    $22-29/hour DOE


    What You'll Do:


    Conduct reconciliations for fund accountsPerform proper fund availability (allocated, obligated, and expensed)Prepare weekly reportsPrepare documents to be sent to Smithsonian's Office of the ComptrollerConduct conversation with fund administrators on fund subjectsGathers, analyzes, reports, and reconciles data.

    Closes purchase orders and travel in the PeopleSoft and Farsight.

    Performs other financial technician duties as needed.


    Job Requirements:
    Skill in analyzing, interpreting, and reporting data using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
    Ability to use automated financial systems to input, retrieve, monitor, and report data.
    Basic knowledge of budget formulation and execution.
    Ability to communicate orally and to explain administrative and financial procedures to staff.
    Experience with procurement, travel, ordering supplies, and reserving rooms formeetings.
