Quarterly Adjunct Lecturer-Bioengineering (Pool)Temporary
The Department of Bioengineering seeks applications for quarterly adjunct lecturers (QALs) for the academic year.
Santa Clara University operates on a quarter system.
Graduate classes are typically held during the 7:10-9:00 a.m., Undergraduate classes are held at various times throughout the day (Monday-Friday).
QALs are allowed to teach up to 4 course equivalencies (CEs) per academic year with no more than 2 CEs in any particular quarter.
Additionally, QALs are allowed to teach an additional 2 CEs during the summer terms.UNDER
GRADUATE:
4 unit lecture = 1 CE
1 unit lab = 0.1 unit lab with a teaching assistant (TA) = 0.
GRADUATE:
4 unit lecture = 1 CE
2 unit lecture = 0.D. in Bioengineering or related fields.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level and/or graduate level in one or more of the sub-discipline topics listed below:
Medical Devices
Teach one or more undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Bioengineering and participate in all related activities, including:
Assign student grades appropriately and submit them on time to the Office of Student Records;
All QAL faculty must apply via Workday once each academic quarter to be hired as a QAL faculty.
Your letter of application must include letter of interest, the specific courses you are interested in teaching that match your expertise, and contact information for three references.
The first class dates for the academic year are:Summer Monday, June 20, 2024
