    Requirements McLaren Medical Group - McLaren Central seeks a Locum Emergency Medicine physician to provide ongoing coverage into 2026Open Dates: Filled By Start Date Shift Start Time - Shift End Time End Date 1/31/ /1/2026 JOB DETAILS:Reason for Locum coverage: Recruitment GapProvide information on support staff APP coverage number of providers on the team: we have one full time Midlevel and 2 prns. we have 4 full time physicians and one prn Average patient volume per day: 54Number of beds: 18 Current EHR in use: cernerPercent of total hospital admissions received from ED: 90Percent of ED patients admitted to the hospital per day: 8Percent of ED patients transferred per day: 2Trauma Level/Designation: provisional level 4 Annual ER volume: 20000Fast Track in ED: *NoFast Track staffed by MD or APP: naPercent of total ED volume treated by Fast Track: naWill the locum Physician be required to supervise other health care providers: just the midlevel on dutyDoes ED staff respond to house codes: YesAre house codes secondary to ED emergencies: yes we also have hospitalist responding and running the codes. anesthesia available for backup during the day. we attend codes to provide airway support Who writes admission orders: hospitalist handles admissions mostly. if we are putting in orders it is just a pso to order bed and some limited bridging orders. Do Hospital bylaws require a specific response time for on call physicians: unsure.Are deliveries received in ED or sent directly to Labor amp Delivery: L and D has a clinicIs ED responsible for monitoring/supervising Paramedics/ambulance by radio: yesDescribe referral/transfer protocol: calling to McLaren Bay and Lansing first to see if they have specialty coverage or beds available bay 47 miles Lansing 70 miles. closest non McLaren facility Midland 25 miles. covenant Saginaw 42 miles.Ambulance response time amp travel referral facility: MMR varies. sometimes delays even for critical transfers.Air ambulance response time amp travel time to referral center: Saginaw has helicopter as well as Corewell GR. both can get here in around 20-30 min24 hour availability for Radiology: no MRI ct xr yes24 hour availability for Laboratory: YesBlood Bank-certified by AABB: YesPathology: Yes24 hour availability for the OR: YesSurgical Services: OrthoDescription of Consultants: CardiologistWho does EKG Interpretations: cardiologist does official interp.
