Summary/Objective:

The production lead position is responsible for supervising production associates in a dairy manufacturing / blending facility.

This position plans and assigns work, implements, and upholds policies, safety, and procedures, as well as recommends improvements in procedures.

The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

Ensuring that production associates understand the goals and their expectations.

Essential Functions:

Complete understanding and ability to perform all of the production functions. Ensure you are meeting the requirements for production numbers to run efficiently to effectively. Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching, mentoring, performance reviews, and development. To assure success of a team. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution. Balance quality, productivity, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas to achieve company objectives. Manage production priorities. End of shift reporting and related paperwork completion. Maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position manages all employees of this specific shift.

Work Environment:

Performing the duties of this job include; contact with dry dairy products, frequent exposure to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.

The employee frequently is required to go up/down stairs, use hands to:
finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position involves standing, bending, and lifting 55 pounds for long periods of time.

No travel is expected for this position.

Education and Experience:

Required:
High school diploma or GED and - 2 years of production experience.

Preferred:
Associate's Degree
