Maintenance Mechanic Anticipated Vacancy: Maintenance Mechanic (1.0 FTE) 2nd shift: 2pm -10:30pm Tuesday through Saturday LOCATION(S): Facilities and Operations Duties:
1. Supervises and/or performs skilled repairs to plumbing, steam lines, electric wiring and equipment, furniture, doors and windows, hardware and varied mechanical equipment and machinery;
2. Installs shelving, storage cabinets and new hardware,
3. Does skilled painting work; Maintains central heating systems Performs grounds maintenance maintains athletic
and playground facilities Makes inspections of property to ascertain repair needs Estimates material required for repairs Obtains necessary permits including Health Department requirements Performs snow ice control activities May keep daily time material records May oversee seasonal help FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of various building construction trades sufficient to be able to perform a wide range of maintenance repair activities on facilities Ability to learn new repair or installation procedures ability plan supervise the work others Understand oral written directions Work in adverse weather conditions Personal characteristics necessary perform duties position Physical condition commensurate demands position QUALIFICATIONS EITHER One year work experience journeyman in skilled trade such as plumbing electrical carpentry steam-fitting OR Four years experience general building construction or building maintenance work OR Equivalent combination training experience indicated above CIVIL SERVICE RULES REGULATIONS APPLY GRADE LEVEL N/A START DATE Immediately
