Camp Kaleidoscope, the JCC Greater Boston arts and science day camp, is looking for a Camp Nurse / Healthcare Supervisor. The Camp Nurse is available on-site during the camp day for all campers and camp staff at the Leventhal-Sidman JCC.

Camp Kaleidoscope draws creative youth interested in the arts, science, and the outdoors. Supportive, experienced counselors and teachers guide campers as they develop and build self-confidence. Camp is fast-paced, nurturing, and supportive, as both campers and staff develop lifelong friendships.

This position will pay in the range of $6,000 - $9,100 for the summer season, or $2,000 - $4,550 per month, as a starting salary. The salary offered will ultimately be determined by the hours employees will work, the scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications and internal equity. While a full summer commitment is preferred for this role, there is some flexibility.

Schedule

June 17 through August 23, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Mondays through Fridays, Full-time seasonal

Requirements

Ensure staff and camper health examinations are current and on file
Communicate with parents and counselors regarding children's needs and any care received at camp
Oversee medical supply inventory and utilization
Provide first aid and administer medications
Maintain a medical log book according to state standards and regulations
Prepare and record accident report forms, as needed
Contribute, as needed, in camp special events and initiatives

Qualifications

First Aid & CPR Certification (we can arrange for CPR certification if outdated), Massachusetts RN license a plus but not required
Enjoy working with children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
Strong organizational skills including teamwork, relationship-building skills, the ability to multitask, and the ability to manage situations effectively and diplomatically
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability and commitment to build strong relationships with campers, parents, co-workers, and camp leadership
