    Citrus Construction a division of the Richman Group of Companies is currently seeking an Interior Construction Superintendent for South Florida area.

    This position will be based in South, FL (Miami Dade/Broward).

    • Position has an option for a $5000 job relocation package.
    • Experience with Multi-family preferred.
    • Experience with Mid-Rise projects preferred.

    Summary:


    The Superintendent is responsible for and will be held accountable for the safety and timely completion of the project and ensuring that the project is constructed in strict accordance with plans, specifications, and local codes.

    Project Superintendent shall schedule all subcontractors, consultants, and vendors, as well as ensure their completion of work within time allowed.

    The Project Superintendent shall be responsible for the coordination of work directed in the field, provide work is performed in accordance with plans and specifications.

    Conflicts or revisions to the plan shall be communicated with the project team (i.e. superiors, architect, engineer, consultant, owner) for mutual resolution, prior to execution of work that deviates from the approved plans. The Construction Superintendent shall establish and enforce job site quality control programs to ensure quality completion of construction.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Minimum of five years of verifiable experience in multi-family construction, or 2 years' experience with a degree in Construction Management.
    • Thorough knowledge of trades and be computer literate.
    • OSHA training of 10 hours (30 hours preferred).
    • Office experience of Procore, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, & Outlook) is also preferred.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Concrete construction experience preferred with parking garage experience a plus.
    • Experience Building Concrete Garden Style apartments in Florida preferred.

    Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities of Superintendent:

    • Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
    • Coordinate construction activities among interior trades ranging from MEPFP rough-in through interior finishes.
    • Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion.
    • Manage, train assistant Superintendent when applicable.
    • Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
    • Communicate with project team regarding ASI's, RFI's, and Material Submittals.
    • Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with his contracted scope of work.
    • Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
    • Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
    • Maintain daily log (written) of activities on the jobsite.
    • Track plan revisions.
    • Ensure subcontractor has corrected all deficiencies identified by project team.
    • Walk all units on project daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning.
    • Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work.
    • Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors regarding quality of work or scheduling.
    • Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
    • Perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion.
    • Secondary Functions:
    • Assist in obtaining permits or approval of revisions.
    • Review material submittals and audit material on site.
    • Identify areas of work that are outside of subcontracted scope.
    • Conduct weekly site safety and coordination meetings.
    • Assure proper supervision coverage with Citrus team.

    Supervisory Responsibility:
    Superintendent shall supervise all subcontractors, consultants, and vendors daily. This supervision shall ensure adequate manpower is available for each task and compliant work performed. Superintendent shall supervise all Assistant-Superintendents.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Provide direction to and resolve problems amongst 30+ subcontractors and vendors.
    • Ability to identify deficient work and provide resolution.
    • Communicate using the following tools: telephone, written logs, email, computer, cell phone, Procore experience a plus.
    • Blueprint reading.
    • Physically lift up to 80 lbs.
    • Endurance and ability to visit entire job site, including stairs or other elevated structures.
    • Monitoring jobsite general health and safety.
    • Oral Communication - Speaks English clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Demonstrates group presentation skills; Participates in meetings. Bilingual a plus.
    • Written Communication - Writes English clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Varies writing style to meet needs; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read English and interpret written information.
    • Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.

    Other Qualifications:

    • Must be able to travel through the state of Florida as assigned.
    • Mathematical Skills- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as slopes, measurements, proportions, and geometry.
