    SUPERVISOR

    Business Development Manager

    AVAILABILITY

    20-30 hours per week

    LENGTH

    6 weeks (June 15 - July 27 preferably)

    LOCATION

    Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C.

    INTERNSHIP SUMMARY

    The purpose of this internship is to expose a future international development professional to business development (BD). BD can be a difficult field to break into, and BD experience is highly desired in the job market. The goal of this internship is for a young person to gain valuable skills and experience and to advance their career in international development. This is expected to be a learning experience for the intern and for the BD team. The BD team recognizes that young people bring unique insights and skillsets that can enhance our work.

    TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Overall

    • Test AI tools and train the team
    • Synthesize reports
    • Research
    • Train team on any tech tools they're familiar with (e.g., Canva)
    • Proofread
    • Admin support as needed
    Domestic

    Support proposal development

    International
    • Review USAID mission CDCSs
    • Input on proposal design
    • Support coordinator with project directory (capes, PPRs, website)
    REQUIREMENTS
    • Attention to detail and accuracy
    • Responsive and available during set working hours
    • Preference for student pursuing a degree in the social sciences (international development, sociology, economics, international relations, etc.)
    • Strong IT skills is a plus
