    Position: Development Associate


    Location: Northwest Missouri State University Newman Center


    Reports to: Director of Campus Ministry (DCM)


    Status: Non-exempt, part-time


    The Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph seeks a Development Associate to build and coordinate development and fundraising efforts of the NWMSU Newman Center.


    Key Responsibilities:



    • Support the mission and priorities of the Newman Center.

    • Communicate with donors and potential donors with student leaders and FOCUS missionaries.

    • Identify potential donors and schedule one-on-one meetings to increase support of Newman benefactors.

    • Grow the Newman fund through one-time and monthly gifts, focusing on alumni, student parents, Northwest Catholic faculty and staff, friends of Newman, and Catholic Community members.

    • Coordinate events to raise awareness and funds, including the Spring Gala.

    • Assist with promotion and public relations as needed.

    • Establish and maintain development records and network building with the DCM.

    • Formulate and meet periodic, annual, and long-term fundraising goals with the DCM.

    • Assist with grant writing as needed.


    Requirements:



    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    • Strong listening and communication skills.

    • Ability to lead and collaborate with staff, respecting others.

    • Attention to detail and pursuit of quality in tasks.

    • Ownership of projects throughout their life cycle.


    Basic Qualifications:



    • High School diploma and experience in a related field.

    • Minimum 3 years of experience in ministry or a related field.

    • Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office, and Adobe software.

    • Familiarity with Donor Perfect or similar donor databases, website updating, and social media management.

    • Familiarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry.
