    Job Summary
    Ursa is looking for a skilled Sr. DevOps Engineer to join our growing team There is a lot of cross-pollination here at Ursa Space.

    You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of highly-skilled engineers, working on a variety of projects.

    This position will function as a principal for Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure. It will involve all aspects, end-to-end, from design to implementation to maintenance. You will also work closely with software engineers to improve the platform and implement analytic solutions.

    The ideal candidate will have significant experience in everything AWS and Python with development experience in AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) and exposure to Kubernetes.

    The Sr. DevOps Engineer will report directly to the Software Team Manager. This position is exempt and not eligible for overtime pay.
    Roles and Responsibilities
    Own, administer and design all AWS infrastructure
    Write, deploy and maintain scalable infrastructure as code
    Establish and maintain access control systems and security
    Fulfillment and enablement of company-wide needs for cloud resources
    Provide support for Platform Engineers and IT administrators
    Mentor other engineers
    Monitor platforms, troubleshoot technical issues
    Migrate legacy systems to redefined architectures
    Coordinate with Ursa customers and vendors to facilitate exchange of data
    Automate repetitive tasks where possible
    Learn and stay updated on new technologies, products and releases
    All other duties as assigned
    Qualifications

    You should have the following:
    Deep expertise of AWS solutions architecture, multi-account administration, security best practices and the AWS ecosystem at-large
    Infrastructure as Code (CDK)
    Intermediate-Advanced Python with adherence to OOP
    Kubernetes (EKS), Docker, serverless and EC2 Linux
    CI/CD pipelines (CodePipeline/CodeBuild, GitLab, Github actions, etc.)
    AWS managed services for networking/systems administration, monitoring, site reliability and security
    AWS Associate certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator)
    Additional Qualifications
    SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL), NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis, etc.) and data lake modeling and administration
    Kubernetes tools (Helm, autoscalers, Argo Workflows, RabbitMQ, etc.)
    DataDog, Prometheus/Grafana, and other observability tools
    ArcGIS, STAC and other industry domain tools
    Other IaC such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, etc.
    Other programming languages (Java, Typescript, Javascript)
    AWS Professional and Specialty certifications (Professional Solutions Architect, Professional DevOps Engineer, Specialty Advanced Networking, Specialty Security)
    Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) and/or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
    AWS GovCloud
    Compliance standards (NIST, PCI, etc.)
    Knowledge of geospatial/satellite imagery analysis
    Prior start-up experience
    Prior Platform Engineering experience
    Location
    Hybrid or Remote. Required attendance at mandatory Ursa meetings at Headquarters when necessary (typically 2-3 times per year)
    Compensation
    Compensation range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000, depending on skills and experience
