    The Everyday Essentials team is seeking a tenured general manager with proven experience in strategy, execution, negotiation, and team development to lead the Premium and Luxury Beauty business.

    As the Head of Premium and Luxury Beauty you will own the P&L and will be responsible for leading and developing a high performing team, setting strategy to drive profitable growth, creating strong partnerships with selling partners, exploring new and emerging business models, running day-to-day operations, and delivering innovation to improve the customer experience.

    The Luxury Beauty category is a fast growing and quickly evolving category that is driven by the intersection of industry changes and consumer taste. The leader of this category will play a critical role as a general manager and people leader in building the portfolio and strategy of one of Amazon's fastest growing businesses.

    In this role you will be regularly working with senior management including C-level executives from numerous vendors, partners, and internal teams. This position is responsible for managing and developing a team focused on expanding selection, business growth, building vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, managing business inputs, developing promotions, and monitoring and reacting to industry and competitive trends.

    This candidate should have experience in people management, negotiations, strategic planning, forecasting, and a background in B2B, B2C or e-commerce businesses. They must be able to work in a highly demanding but collegial environment where teamwork is a must. The right candidate will be strategic, flexible, action and results oriented, and self-starting. They must also be decisive and able to move with speed to implement their own ideas.

    The successful candidate should have experience managing teams, developing leaders, analyzing new business opportunities, building strong relationships, driving significant top and bottom line results, and be comfortable managing multiple responsibilities within a fast-paced environment. The candidate must also possess strong analytical acumen and be comfortable generating and evaluating various forecasts, metrics, and analyses. The candidate should be adept at problem-solving and managing multiple priorities effectively and efficiently. Strong communication skills (both oral and written) are critical.

    As a member of the Health & Beauty organization, you will partner with peers in setting the business' long range strategic plans. You will possess direct knowledge of all retail functions within the Premium Beauty business (vendor management, marketing, operations and finance) and be capable of acting as a proxy for the General Manager in high level meetings with both internal and external executives. This role will be reporting to Melis del Rey.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Managing a full P&L, including planning, forecasting and driving growth for the category, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact the business.

    • Execute a strategic business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g., operations, marketing legal, tech).

    • Develop and lead a multi-functional team of Vendor Managers and Program Managers with ownership covering the B2C store, as well as the B2B store (Amazon Business)

    • Lead day-to-day operational aspects of the business, including gathering and addressing customer and vendor feedback, price management, and business improvement initiatives.

    • Setting goals and strategic direction for the business, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and vision.

    • Representing Amazon when meeting with senior executive teams from top vendors and building long term strategic relationships.

    • Generating and implementing big ideas to drive business improvements, innovation, and scale within the category and across the Retail business.

    • Leading cross functional collaboration on necessary systems and processes to support business needs, including retail systems, site merchandising and in-stock.

    • Innovating and implementing new customer and vendor programs.

    • Collaborating on Marketing and Merchandising initiatives.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    7 to 10 years of team management experience.
    7+ years of operational and/or retail management experience.
    Bachelor's degree
    Experience with vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion or inventory management
    Experience recruiting, hiring and developing talent
    Experience delivering results, setting strategy, and running a large volume and high profile business
    Experience communicating complex business concepts in verbal and written form

    Experience leading and transforming highly effective organizations
    Experience with P&L responsibility and delivering strong financial results
    Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, economics, engineering, marketing

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
