    The primary role of the position is to manage the overall performance of the facility, equipment and utilities utilized in the OE Glassmaking assembly operations.

    Must plan, design, organize and lead the functional activities of the Plant Maintenance and Engineering departments.


    Essential Functions:


    Ensure adequate resources, equipment, and people are in place to meet operational needs by reviewing operational targets and communicating with internal plant resources.

    Responsible for the leadership of both the maintenance and engineering departments.

    Serve as escalation point for both maintenance and engineering on downtime related issues regarding Fanuc robots and Allen Bradley PLC's.

    Lead and manage reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) system to ensure optimum equipment reliability and process effectiveness.
    Audits preventative/predictive inspections and programs that support RCM to ensure effectiveness and continuous improvement compliance.
    Communicate effectively with employees at all levels to ensure matters of mutual concern are addressed and resolved.

    Ensure that all production-related equipment in the plant is maintained in a state of repair, to achieve efficiency and effectiveness with proper uptime, yields, and throughput.

    Responsible for coordinating the capital planning and implementation of capital projects.
    Coordinate contractor activities to ensure safety and costs are controlled and deadlines met while adhering to NSG standards.
    Manages the daily maintenance and shutdown activities within budgeted dollars, approved staffing levels, and material resources.
    Ensure all EHS standards relating to equipment are met for new equipment.

    Oversee the technical health of the entire facility as it relates to Plant Maintenance and Engineering by working side by side with other department managers.

    Directs capital type projects from feasibility studies through design and ultimate implementation.

    These projects are evaluated by analyzing the available technology and equipment, determining the investment cost and need for the equipment.

    The incumbent must stay abreast of the newest developments in the state-of-the-art technologies.
    Determines equipment and facility needs through working with other managers and Group Engineering technical staff. Work with outside contractors, utilizing the competitive bidding process to secure equipment and/or services for projects when necessary. Projects are monitored from inception to conclusion. Work with Group Engineering or outside engineering services to direct or assist with larger projects.
    Must possess the ability to supervise skilled workers and have wide experience in plant operations.

    Should have excellent troubleshooting ability, technical knowledge of production equipment, mechanical and electrical equipment, computer operations, and ability to motivate maintenance personnel under pressure.

    Should be able to coordinate several projects simultaneously and should be able to generate ideas that can lead to reduction of cost and improvement of work processes.

    This position requires excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
    Implements measures designed to provide safe working conditions for plant personnel. This is done through working with the other department managers.
    Selects, develops, trains, motivates, appraises, and compensates subordinate personnel to provide for a competent work force.
    Establish and maintain inventory controls and targets for inventory levels for spare parts in the storeroom area.

    Qualifications Required:

    Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.3+ years of experience in the Engineering and Maintenance fieldSupervisory and leadership experience in a continuous manufacturing setting3 to 5 years of experience supervising hourly, salary and contractor personnel.

    Solid interpersonal, coaching and communication skills.
    Ability to facilitate groups in an employee involvement environment.
