- Oversee full-cycle payroll processing for multiple pay groups on a bi-weekly and/or semi-monthly schedule, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
- Handle employee changes such as new hires, terminations, salary modifications, bonuses, and overtime.
- Verify timekeeping data and collaborate with HR and operations teams to address any discrepancies.
- Ensure accurate payroll transaction entries in the general ledger and conduct monthly payroll account reconciliations.
- Update and maintain payroll systems and records to align with internal control measures and audit standards.
- Generate and distribute payroll reports and labor summaries while providing analytical support to finance and leadership.
- Efficiently manage payroll tax filings, garnishments, deductions, and benefits coordination with third-party providers.
- Assist with regular internal and external audits, including compliance reviews, by supplying required documentation.
- Identify and implement process enhancements to improve payroll accuracy, efficiency, and scalability during periods of company growth or acquisitions.
- Safeguard the confidentiality of sensitive payroll and personnel data following company policies and industry security standards.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
- 3-5+ years of payroll administration experience in a multi-entity or manufacturing setting is required.
- Experience in the aerospace, defense, or government contracting sectors is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with payroll software systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, Paylocity, Ceridian, or similar).
- Thorough understanding of payroll tax compliance, wage and hour regulations, and reporting necessities.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Epicor, SAP) and general ledger reconciliation.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the capacity to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration across departments.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion in managing confidential information.
