    The Research Lab Manager:
    Manages day to day operations of a research laboratory. Develops, implements and maintains the lab's standard operating procedures in compliance with hospital and governmental regulations.

    Monitors and ensures compliance with government regulations regarding safety and the use and disposal of radioactive materials, chemicals and other hazardous materials.

    Manages and oversees the requisitioning of research animals and maintenance of related records and documentation. Updates and renews active research protocols. Prepares and files new protocols in conformance with hospital, and regulatory agencies requirements.,

    Prepares, monitors and administers laboratory's operating budget and maintains related financial records. In conjunction with faculty and Facilities Assistant, prepares annual laboratory expense budget. Monitors and maintains expenses within established budget allocations, requesting and justifying exceptions as warranted.

    Manages and oversees preparation, submission and maintenance of laboratory's research grants. Develops individual grant expense budgets and monitors, maintains and reconciles expenses within established allocations.

    Assists in preparing grant applications and monitors applications to ensure receipt of required approvals and submission to funding agencies within established timeframes.

    Screens and interviews applicants and makes hiring recommendations to Principal Investigators. Prepares and expedites payroll, performance evaluations and employee change forms. Maintains laboratory's personnel files and records.

    Serves as a liaison between principle investigator and lab staff.

    Stays abreast of regulations and implements changes in the lab to adhere to new Hospital and federal mandates.


    To qualify, you must have:
    Bachelor's Degree in STEM or Psychology required

    7 years of relevant experience or Master's of Science and 5 years of relevant experience.


    Analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in depth, experience based knowledge.


    The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing including assigning and distributing work, enforcing policies, conduct performance reviews, and counsel employees with performance and/or disciplinary issues.

    The ability to write detailed reports and proposals.
