Summary

Downtown Public Health Center, Primary Care has an opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) to work within our immunizations program.

This RN will see patients for immunizations, maintain state compliance with both childhood and adult immunization programs, and handle the ordering and stock of required vaccines for different populations.

Nurses of the Downtown Family Medicine clinic work with vulnerable populations spanning the entire lifespan.

Job Duties

Work Schedule:
This is a fully benefitted, career service nursing position with a 1.0 fte that is overtime eligible. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.

Additionally, this position may work outside of the typical schedule to meet operational needs and is an onsite body of work that does not afford the ability to telework.

Job Duties

• Provides vaccine administration to adult and pediatric patient, and documents accurately in Epic EHR system and WAIIS state system.
• Manages storage and handling of clinic's vaccines, inventory, and state reports.
• Provides coaching and guidance to staff and providers regarding vaccines schedules, vaccine administration and documentation.
• Communicates vaccine changes to staff as well as provides tools to staff regarding ordering and documenting appropriate vaccines.
• Conducts nursing assessments and interventions, patient care planning, evaluation, and medical care coordination.
• Carries out prescribed treatments, administers medications and vaccinations, monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response.
• Conducts medical screening and triage with patients over the phone and in person.
• Obtains and documents health history, chief complaint, vital signs, growth monitoring data, assessment data, and developmental screening data.
• Participates and assists in the training and orientation of health care professional students and new employees.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills


Requirements:

• Associate degree in nursing science or a graduate level nursing degree of MSN, DNP or PhD from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Washington State license as a Registered Nurse or Multi-State Licensure.
• Documentation of current BLS-CPR for Health Care Providers. CPR/AED HeartSaver courses do not meet this requirement.
• Washington state driver's license or ability to travel to sites within the county.
