    Description

    Centenary College of Louisiana invites applications for a Director of Global Studies to lead the College's highly successful intercultural and international programs.

    Centenary maintains a vibrant international education program with 97% of students traveling abroad at least once during their undergraduate education; the College consistently ranks #1 in Open Doors reports in the percentage of undergraduate students participating in study abroad programs among baccalaureate colleges in the United States.


    The Director oversees intercultural and internationally focused educational programs, pursues new opportunities for students to engage in global service or study abroad, and coordinates support for all international degree-seeking and exchange students.

    The Director reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and liaises with key offices on campus


    Primary responsibilities include:

    • Serving as the lead administrator for intercultural travel programs including course development, travel orientations for faculty and students, and assessment of intercultural and study abroad programs.
    • Leading marketing and promotion of international opportunities.
    • Supporting international exchange and degree-seeking students throughout their tenure at Centenary.
    • Serving as the Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) to all F-1 visa holding international students on campus.


    Minimum qualifications include a Master's Degree in a related field, United States citizenship (for SEVIS purposes), and experience in study abroad.

    The successful candidate will demonstrate cross-cultural sensitivity, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage project development and implementation.

    Preferred qualifications include a terminal degree in a related field; three or more years related experience; prior teaching experience; and/or working knowledge of a second language.
