    Description

    Job Description:

    The Associate Director supports the daily operations of the Financial Aid office, including supervising operational staff, managing aid, verification, SAP, and appeals processes. This role involves maintaining a strong understanding of federal, state, and institutional regulations. The Associate Director oversees financial aid fund management and administers loan programs. They manage disbursements, reporting, and reconciliation of programs. Additionally, they act as a compliance resource for the team and provide backup to the Director as necessary.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Federal Direct Loan and private loan programs.
  • Counsel students on loan options and financial awareness.
  • Manage disbursements and review release of refunds.
  • Coordinate Federal and Institutional Work Study Programs.
  • Award Graduate Program loans and scholarships.
  • Manage summer Pell Grant awards.
  • Handle reconciliation and reporting for Federal Direct Loans and Pell Grants.
  • Analyze financial aid history and update enrollment status.
  • Exercise Professional Judgment for complex issues.
  • Conduct federal verification and award aid funds.
  • Ensure compliance with financial aid programs.
  • Maintain NCAA and conference compliance.

    • Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with at least three years of financial aid administration experience.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience with Federal Direct Loans and Title IV regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and financial aid software programs.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all people.
  • Knowledge of Federal sites like EDconnect and NSLDS.
  • Assist with financial aid procedures manual.
  • Help students with FAFSA and aid forms.
  • Update financial aid publications.
  • Represent financial aid for campus inquiries.
  • Produce reports for agencies.
  • Conduct aid seminars and workshops.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Perform assigned duties.
