Spanish Language Arts Curriculum Support - Chicago, United States - Chicago Public Schools
![Default job background](https://contents.bebee.com/public/img/bg-user-ex-1.jpg)
Description
Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is one of the largest school districts in the United States, serving over 320,000 students in 600+ schools and employing nearly 40,000 people, most of them teachers. CPS has set ambitious goals to ensure that every student, in every school and every neighborhood, has access to a world-class learning experience that prepares each for success in college, career, and civic life. In order to fulfill this mission, we make three commitments to our students, their families, and all Chicagoans: academic progress, financial stability, and integrity. Six core values are embedded within these commitments – student-centered, whole child, equity, academic excellence, community partnership, and continuous learning.
Located within the Office of Teaching & Learning, the Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Digital Learning (CIDL) is implementing the Curriculum Equity Initiative (CEI): a portfolio of projects coordinated to design and implement a comprehensive support system for teachers with Skyline—the district's first digital PK-12, standards-aligned, culturally responsive curriculum—at its core. Once implemented, this digital curriculum will provide CPS students and teachers with access to high-quality, engaging, and culturally responsive learning materials. CIDL's charge is to continuously improve the curriculum and create sustainable connections to university, community, municipal, cultural, and contractual partners.
The part-time/temporary Spanish Language Arts (SLA) Curriculum Support position will assist with improvements to the K-12 SLA curriculum. This is a part-time/temporary position that will be compensated for time worked on an hourly basis. The work schedule for this role will consist of an estimated 20 hours per week for an anticipated period of 12 months, beginning in May 2024 and ending in May 2025. Due to this work's part-time/temporary nature, this is not a benefit-eligible position. This role will report to the Manager of Digital Curriculum.
